Women's Health

How we treat women’s health at Qi Clinic

We combine acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Tuina to help manage your symptoms and support your recovery.

We start by listening to your story. Together, we set clear goals and create a treatment plan so you know where to start and how to move forward.
Most importantly, we begin where you are, with full respect for who you are. From there, we support your body in doing what it naturally knows best: healing.

Women’s bodies are complex and highly sensitive to hormonal changes. Yet women’s health has often been overlooked in research, leaving many women without the clarity, understanding, and support they need.

Women’s health from a Chinese Medicine perspective

Chinese Medicine has documented gynaecological conditions for thousands of years. Ancient texts over 2,000 years old may describe patterns similar to what we now understand as endometriosis:

“When pathological blood that should be discharged is not, it accumulates inside the body. Over time it may grow as if the person were pregnant. The menstrual cycle becomes irregular or delayed. These patterns occur only in women and can be guided downward.”

With its holistic view of health, Chinese Medicine does not see symptoms as separate from one another. It focuses on regulation rather than suppression. The goal is to support your body in restoring balance and responding to its own health challenges. It treats you, not the disease, offering personalised care that doesn’t stop when the treatment ends.

How hormonal imbalances show up

Hormonal imbalances in women often show up as:

Irregular periods

Mood changes or low mood

Fatigue or low energy and motivation

Sleep problems

Digestive issues such as IBS

Hot flushes and night sweats

Many women will recognise these symptoms from conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, or during the transition into perimenopause and menopause.
